Bang & Olufsen is best known for expensive headphones and speakers, but its latest product takes the brand into a much more ordinary category. The company is now promoting a Bang & Olufsen power bank as a complimentary gift with every Beoplay H100 or Beo Grace purchase through its own travel collection page (via Notebookcheck). A product listing from official Bang & Olufsen dealer Brussee also shows the accessory as a standalone item priced at €145.
That makes this a surprising move for B&O, although the design helps explain why it exists. The power bank has a glass finish, an aluminium frame, diamond-cut detailing and pearl-blasted textures, giving it a much more polished look than a typical magnetic battery pack.
It also comes in Infinite Black and Hourglass Sand, matching the colour options of the Beoplay H100 headphones. It looks less like a generic power bank and more like a natural companion to B&O’s premium audio products.
The charging specs are fairly normal for a modern compact power bank. The listing shows a 5,000mAh battery, up to 15W Qi2 wireless charging and up to 20W USB-C output. The USB-C port also supports up to 18W input for recharging the power bank itself.
Bang & Olufsen says five minutes of charging can add up to 3.5 hours of extra playback time for the Beoplay H100. The accessory can also be used with Qi2-compatible phones and regular USB-C devices, so it is not limited to B&O headphones.
The main drawback is the price, especially for a compact 5,000mAh power bank. At €145 through the official dealer listing, the Bang & Olufsen Power Bank costs far more than many Qi2 alternatives from mainstream accessory brands.
This seems built more for B&O fans than for people simply shopping for the best-value charger. As a power bank, it is not trying to reinvent anything; as a Bang & Olufsen accessory, it is mostly about design.
It is still a surprising product, but not a completely random one. Bang & Olufsen has always treated design as part of the experience, and now that approach has reached something as ordinary as a portable charger.
