TAG Heuer has brought Gulf’s famous racing colours back to the Formula 1 collection, this time on a bold titanium chronograph. TAG Heuer says  the new Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf is the fourth Gulf Edition in the Formula 1 line, and also looks like one of the most aggressive versions yet.

The watch uses Gulf’s instantly recognisable light blue and orange livery, a colour scheme closely tied to endurance racing and cars like the Porsche 917 and Ford GT40. TAG Heuer has applied those stripes vertically across a black dial, giving the watch a much stronger motorsport look than a standard Formula 1 chronograph.

There is a lot happening on the dial, but that is part of what gives the watch its motorsport character. It has three chronograph counters, a blue outer ring, orange and blue accents, and a bright orange central chronograph seconds hand. The hour and minute hands are semi-skeletonised and filled with Super-LumiNova to help keep things readable.

The case measures 44mm and is made from sandblasted Grade 2 titanium, which helps keep the watch lighter than its size suggests. The bracelet is titanium as well, with a sharply angled H-link design that fits the watch’s racing theme.

One of the strongest visual details is the forged carbon bezel. It carries a tachymeter scale and Gulf branding, while the black DLC chronograph pushers and orange-accented crown add even more contrast.

Inside, the watch runs on TAG Heuer’s Calibre 16 automatic chronograph movement. Around the back, the solid caseback is engraved with the Gulf logo and a “One of 1000” marking.

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf will be available online from July 3. It is priced at $6,300 in the US and £5,350 in the UK.

With its titanium case, forged carbon bezel, and full Gulf livery, this is one of the loudest Formula 1 models TAG Heuer has made in a while, but it wears that racing influence with confidence.
