LEGO has turned one of NASA’s most famous space instruments into a new Icons set built for display. Priced at $139.99, the Hubble Space Telescope model will be available from August 1, 2026. The 1,252-piece build is designed for adults and joins the brand’s Icons range.
The set recreates the Hubble Space Telescope as a detailed display model for space fans. It includes posable solar arrays and antennas, an opening aperture door and a stand with an information plaque.
LEGO has also added some hidden detail inside the model. Builders can remove the exterior panels to reveal an instrument bay, complete with gyroscopes and primary and secondary mirrors. That should make the build more interesting for anyone who wants more than just a shelf piece.
An astronaut minifigure is included for approximate scale, which is a nice touch given the telescope’s history with NASA servicing missions. It also helps show just how large the real Hubble is compared with a person.
Once built, the model measures over 12.5 inches high, 15 inches long, and 15 inches wide with the aperture door open. It is large enough to stand out on a shelf without taking up as much room as some of LEGO’s bigger collector sets.
The Hubble Space Telescope has helped reshape how people see the universe, so it makes sense as a subject for LEGO’s adult-focused space lineup. Previous LEGO space sets have leaned into NASA history and display value, and this one seems to follow that same path.
Astronomy fans are likely to appreciate the set’s close connection to a recognisable piece of space history. Its moving parts and internal details also give the building process more depth.
